YMCA Life Guarding Course- Ages 16+
Upon successful completion of written and practical exam, students will receive the four certifications required to be eligible for lifeguard employment.
- YMCA Lifeguarding Certification (3 year certification)
- First Aid for Lifeguarding (3 year certification)
- CPR for the Professional (1 year certification)
- AED (1 year certification)
Pool sessions will be held at The Pennington School, classroom sessions will be held at the Hopewell Valley YMCA office. Fee includes participant manual, pocket mask and certification cards. Participants must turn 16 prior to the end of the class and must pass the prerequisite swim test. Participants MUST attend all classes.
Pre-requisite swim test consists of:
- Swim 300 yards (free style, side stroke & breast stroke)
- Tread water
- Swim length of pool, retrieve 10lb brick and swim back in 1 minute 40 seconds
Spring I: February 29-April 18, 2010 (No class April 4 & 7, 2010)
